Mulligan’s
Mulligan’s is not your average thrift store.
The Foundation opened the store with a unique mission and that mission is not just as a fundraising effort.
The Mulligan’s Mission is to prepare individuals with special needs for community employment by training them both in the store and in processing centers, located in the day programs operated by York County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs. Clothing is washed, priced and hung and household items are cleaned and sorted at these processing centers.
This opens up the opportunity for training and employment to many more individuals than could work in a small store at any given time. Any profit Mulligan’s makes is also recycled back into our community by supporting the needs of people with disabilities, such as family support funds to provide necessary items for someone who cannot afford them without help.
Mulligan’s is also an active community partner. The store provides vouchers to other area non-profits for their clients’ use. For example, Mulligan’s gives vouchers to local homeless shelters so that, once clients get back on their feet, they can get household items or necessary clothing items.
