March 21st – World Down Syndrome Day
Did you know that March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day? The date choice is set internationally on March 21st as a symbol of a third copy of the 21st chromosome that characterizes Down syndrome. This is the first year that the day is officially recognized in the United Nations.
The National Down Syndrome Society is asking that everyone “do something extra” in honor of those with an extra 21st chromosome! Grab the button and post on, and on, and on! Let everyone know how wonderful our sons, daughters, neices, nephews, aunts and uncles with Down syndrome truly are.
